Aims Of This Course

This Creative Photography Course is aimed at those who really want to push the limits of their photography, and do so very quickly. At the end of the course you can be sure that your photography will be at a completely different level!

About the Course

The beauty of this course is that you do not need a wide range of skills to get great results, you can be a complete beginner or someone with more photography experience. Each Module prepares you for that particular photography discipline by only discussing the camera techniques needed for that specific topic.

At the end of the course you will have an in-depth understanding of how the creative process works and how to put it into effect in all your photos. You will also be able to accellerate your learning in photography by test out all these great photoography disciplines to see which ones suit you.

Course Requirements

Who is this course suited for?
Students taking this course will have been trying out Aperture Priority and Shutter Priority on their camera. While shots are not always turning successfully, they feel they are now ready for some serious instruction as to what has been going right (and why) anout d what has been going wrong (and why).

Recommended Equipment

A Digital Camera with Aperture Priority (Av on Canons, A on other cameras). Suitable cameras would include Digital SLRs or Bridge cameras, see Choosing a Camera here. Wide Angle Lens (18-55mm kit lenses are fine). Tripod. Photoshop or Photoshop Elements (any version suitable).

Course Outcomes

At the end of this course all partipicants will have a very good understanding of how Program, Aperture Priority and Shutter Priority Modes function. They will also have developed their creative side and will have a clearer idea of the kinds of images they want to shoot.

Course Presenter
The course presenter for this course is fine art photographer, Dave McKane. Dave graduated from the 3 Year Photography Course in Colaiste Dhulaigh, Dublin in 1985, and has over 30 years experience in creative photography. He got his first film SLR in 1982, owned multiple darkrooms, was an early adoption of a scanner (1989), Photoshop (1993), his first digital camera (2002) and Lightroom (2007), he has vast experience in the field of using photography as a creative expressive medium and has held multiple exhibitions of his own photography, mainly in the United States.
