Our Practical PhotoWalks are interactive guided walking tours, which travel along carefully pre-planned routes, and are designed to cater for most fitness levels. Each one provides a rich opportunity to capture creative and exciting pictures in less than 2 hours, while picking up some amazing photography tips from trained experts, no matter what camera you own! Every PhotoWalk passes by multiple historic sites and iconic landmarks, guaranteeing that you will head home with a ton of amazing keepers.

All ages, skill levels, and cameras are welcome, from phones, point and shoots, entry level SLRs, and even high end cameras. So whether you are a newbie or an experienced photographer, you will walk away with fantastic pictures, improved photographic skills, and a fun, eye-opening experience!

Learn how to quickly improve your photography skills on one of our Practical PhotoWalks by choosing one or more of the walks listed below. 

PHOTOWALKS STRUCTURE

  • We meet at the starting point for the PhotoWalk
  • An introductory talk will take place around the key photographic aspects of that particular PhotoWalk
  • We will show you how to dial in the correct settings on your camera/smart phone for that particular PhotoWalk
  • Our special eBook "How to get the best out of PhotoWalk Photography" will be emailed to you when you book the session, so as to help you get the best out of the PhotoWalk
  • Each walk lasts about 2.5 hours
  • An IOP Tutor is constantly on hand to advise on the technical and compositional issues that will arise during the PhotoWalk
  • At various points throughout the PhotoWalk the tutor will illustrate how to go about photographing various aspects of the scenes that we pass. Topics such as composition, viewpoint, lens selection, shutter speed, depth of field, exposure and the use of reflectors will all be covered.
  • Wrap-up and overview of the shots that have been taken

FITNESS LEVEL
Most of our PhotoWalks are suitable for those of a moderate fitness level. They take place mainly on flat ground, although some of them will have small inclines to climb and descend. Please see each individual PhotoWalk description for specific details.

WHO ARE THESE PHOTOWALKS AIMED AT?
Our PhotoWalks are designed for all skill levels, and all camera levels. We welcome digital cameras of any kind, from Smart Phones, to Compact Cameras, to Bridge Cameras, right up to SLR's of any kind. We also particularly welcome film camera users.
